Our Old San Juan & La Perla Magical Walking Tour takes you through the unique neighborhood of La Perla, full of local culture and history. Discover the roots of Puerto Rican Music like Reggaeton, Bomba, Salsa, Plena and more… (several classic videos from “Despacito” to Bad Bunny to Salsa Icon Ismael Rivera have been filmed in La Perla), learn the local legends and hidden history behind the forts, the pirates who attacked them, the details from the 16th Century Spanish colonial architecture, and today’s local gems in this 500-year-old city once called the Gateway to the Americas. We also visit farm-to-table cafés serving the island’s best Puerto Rican mountain coffee, grown in the Central mountains of our island. The tour highlights hidden local spots and classic landmarks, all seen from a fresh, local perspective. A private tour usually runs from 4-7pm, ending with a sunset at one of the city's most stunning places. There's also an optional stop at a secret natural ocean jacuzzi, perfect for a peaceful swim with amazing views.
